Tesla Cybertruck is perhaps the most unique vehicle to hit the road in years. It seems whoever designed the car has a real vendetta against curves and loves PS1-era graphics a bit too much.

However, Elon Musk’s pet project offers much more than its bizarre angular design. Plus, Cybertruck is ready to provide all those things that Tesla is known for. It means a minimalist design, one of the widest ranges on the market and all the high-tech attributes you could ask for.

Tesla Cybertruck release date

Tesla was originally supposed to start production of the Cybertruck at the end of 2021, but then postponed it to the end of this year. Although, according to some recent reports, it could be delayed to early 2023, which seems to be supported by Tesla removing the 2022 launch window from Cybertruck’s order page.

The main postponements were due to issues in the supply chain, which had a massive impact on the automotive industry. Elon Musk mentioned that Tesla couldn’t manufacture enough 4680 battery cells for the Cybertruck, although the unique steel frame needed an all-new molding machine to develop.

In the meantime, Tesla has been clear on its priorities, saying it won’t start Cybertruck production until the Texas Giga factory begins production of new Model Ys. Unfortunately, that didn’t happen. still produced, meaning Cybertruck’s status is still pending.

Unfortunately, we don’t know when the Cybertruck will launch and what the delays mean for the production schedule for the twin- and single-engine models.

Tesla Cybertruck Price

The single-engine Cybertruck, the last to go into production, is expected to start at $39,990 – $5,000 cheaper than the cheapest Model 3. In the meantime, however, the dual-motor model, with all-wheel drive, was said to be priced at $49,990.

The three-engined Cybertruck, initially the flagship model, is expected to land at $69,990. Pricing for the four-motor variant is still unknown, as it never appeared on Tesla’s website.

All 4 models will have the basic Autopilot as standard, but the Complete Self Driving feature will be available at an additional cost. Currently, this package is available for $12,000, while we suspect the Cybertruck will also qualify for the $199 per month FSD subscription.

The 4680 batteries are an engineering marvel, with Tesla committing the spiral design to deliver 16% more runtime and six times the power of its current battery cells. The cells should also cost less to manufacture, and these savings can be reflected in the final cost of the truck.

EVs are generally quite expensive than gas-powered cars, so this would be a big win, especially if Tesla is serious about rolling out a $25,000 car by 2023.

Tesla Cybertruck range

Like many cars, the range of the Cybertruck depends on the model you choose to buy. Earlier Tesla said the single-motor model would provide 250 miles of content, the least that Elon Musk says he will let Tesla provide.

Meanwhile, the upgrade to the twin-motor model bumps up to 300 miles, which seems like a more impressive figure. The three-motor model is also claimed to deliver over 500 miles of range on a single charge, which is just insane.

Although that figure was announced before Musk canceled the Model S Plaid, saying the car’s approximate range of over 500 miles was way too much. So, it’s unclear what this means for the Cybertruck.

Unfortunately the range of the four-motor model is just not known, and since the extra motor needs extra power, we’re not quite sure if it will be higher or lower than what the three-motor model engines should give.

Tesla Cybertruck performance

According to Tesla, the single-motor Cybertruck can go from zero to 60 miles per hour in 6.5 seconds. It’s pretty listless by Tesla standard, but it’s a truck, and their bulk usually prevents super-fast acceleration.

However, this makes the performance of the higher end models slightly more intriguing. The two-motor Cybertruck can hit 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds, while the three-motor model can do so in 2.9 seconds. That’s incredibly fast for such a massive vehicle, and it’s possible to give other less bulky electric cars a run for their money.

Additionally, as a truck, the Cybertruck will be capable of towing 7,500 lbs with a single motor, 10,000 lbs with two, while 14,000 lbs on the three-motor model.

Currently, no information is with us regarding the four-engine variant, while we assume that an additional engine can be used with additional acceleration and towing capacity.
